What You'll Do

We're looking for enthusiastic volunteers to help beta test OpenContribute, a platform connecting NGOs with volunteers for environmental and social causes. As a beta tester, you'll explore key features including tree geotagging, bird rescue tracking, volunteer opportunity management, and the social feed system. Your feedback will help us improve the platform before our official public launch.

- Basic computer literacy
- Comfortable using web applications
- Attention to detail
- Good written communication for providing feedback
- Mobile device access (for GPS testing) - optional but preferred


What to Bring / Requirements

Note: Beta Testing has to be done for both Mobile and Desktop Views

1. User Registration & Profile Setup (30 mins)
- Create volunteer account
- Complete profile with photo and details
- Explore profile completion tracking
2. NGO Interaction Testing (45 mins)
- Browse NGO profiles
- Follow NGOs
- View NGO opportunities and events
- Apply to volunteer opportunities
3. Tree Geotagging Feature (1 hour)
- Add new tree records with GPS location
- Upload tree photos
- Test edit/update tree details
- View tree on map interface
- Test tree health status updates
4. Bird Rescue Module (30 mins)
- Record bird rescue entries
- Test GPS location capture
- Add rescue photos and details
- Update rescue/release status
5. Social Feed Testing (45 mins)
- Create posts with text and images
- Like and comment on posts
- Test follow/unfollow functionality
- Check notification system
6. Messaging System (30 mins)
- Send direct messages to NGOs
- Test message notifications
- Check conversation threading
7. Mobile Responsiveness (30 mins)
- Access platform on mobile device
- Test GPS location features
- Check photo upload from mobile camera
- Verify UI/UX on smaller screens

- Bug reports (with screenshots if possible)
- UI/UX suggestions
- Feature usability ratings
- Performance issues
- Mobile experience feedback
- Suggestions for improvements

Requirements:
- Valid email address
- Access to laptop/desktop computer
- Mobile device with camera (preferred)
- Stable internet connection
- Willingness to provide honest, constructive feedback

3. Have you participated in beta testing before?
4. What aspects of social/environmental causes interest you most?
5. Can you commit 3-5 hours over the 2-week testing period?

Selection Criteria:
- Mix of technical and non-technical users
- Diversity in devices and browsers
- Geographic diversity
- Interest in volunteering and environmental causes
- Availability during testing period

Communication:
- Slack channel for real-time discussions
- Google Form for structured feedback
- Weekly check-in video call (optional)
- Email support for urgent issues

Important Notes:
- This is unpaid volunteer testing
- Some features may be incomplete or buggy
- Test data may be reset periodically
- Feedback deadline: December 15, 2025
- Platform URL and test credentials will be provided upon selection
